Julie Hills from the Residents Association stated that the Traffic Regulation Order for the main road running through Trevisker has now been granted. Because of certain traffic offences that have taken place within the estate, JH asked if the PC would apply for a TRO for the whole estate. 

JH informed the PC regarding parking problems around Trevisker Primary and Junior Schools. Details for overcoming the problem were read out. It was agreed to discuss this at the next meeting.

PG informed the meeting that most of the Footpaths in the Parish were operating normally. 

There is a stile/ barbed wire problem on Footpath no 5 on the wall after the bridge and before the exit onto the road at Tregona. Highways are looking into the access at the beginning of Footpath 539/7/1 towards Trerair farm.

Charlotte Goodship from the Wheal Buzzy project gave an interesting educational talk on the species of bees that are found in Cornwall. She provided leaflets and information that are available. 

Stephen Rushworth confirmed that he had negotiated with Wain homes for two pedestrian crossings to be installed on the main road. One for access to the shopping area and the other to link the new property development. 

 The meeting agreed to spend the necessary monies to enhance the Footpath Signage in the Parish.

Before the meeting started Peter Greening provided the meeting with a report on the condition of various Footpaths in the Parish. The coastal path was not included. Minor problems in certain areas, which are being addressed.

Before the meeting started Julie Hills , SEPRA spoke about the problems that the residents of Trevisker have been experiencing about the speed of traffic on the main road and the lack of proper lighting along the same road. She is hoping that with the new buildings proposed on either side of the road that something could be done about both problems. Traffic calming she believes is a necessity and a zebra crossing. Jamie Grant, Wain homes was attending the meeting to outline the minor changes his company was suggesting from the original plans that were submitted to CC. He stated that he would look into the the traffic calming ideas put forward. The meeting also agreed to have an on site meeting with Highways to see if any improvements could be gained from them. Peter Greening from Trevisker had attended the meeting to introduce himself. He is very keen to take the post of Public rights of way advisor to the PC. He explained is a very keen walker and knows the Footpath network in the St Eval Parish well. The Councillors voted unanimously that he should be given the position. Prop: MB Sec: MW All Supported.

Mr John Robinson provided the meeting with a short, but illuminating history of the “Trephy “ steps at Porthcothan. There has been problems over the years with the steps falling into disrepair and CC’s decision at one stage to have them closed. But until a short while ago a number of residents have been contributing to a fund for the steps to be restored when required, as well as having in place a public liability insurance which expires in September 2015. 

Because it has been recognised that the land the steps are built on was bequeathed to the PC, it is felt that they should become the PC’s responsibility. After discussion the meeting agreed that these steps would be the PC’s responsibility. Therefore the Clerk will formalise the required paperwork and liaise with JR.
